<p class="""MsoNormal""">It is with great sadness that the St. John's Junior Hockey a League acknowledges the passing of the late Ray Bowe on September 29, 2021 at St. Claire`s Hospital.  Ray was 85 years old.

<p class="""MsoNormal""">Ray provided impressive leadership for hockey officials within Newfoundland and Labrador. During a lifetime of calling hockey games and providing expert instructions for hockey officials, it was in 1977 that he accepted the volunteer position of provincial referee-in-chief and he successfully fulfilled the duties and responsibilities associated with it until he retired in 2000. Extremely knowledgeable and solidly dedicated, he gained the respect of officials and all other hockey people by the manner in which he operated.  Ray was the Referee In Chief for over 20 years and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002. <p class="""MsoNormal""">  <p class="""MsoNormal""">The SJJHL wishes to extend our deepest condolences to Ray's entire family and circle of friends.
