St. John’s Junior Hockey League Awards Sportscraft Source for Sports Forward, Defenceman, and Goaltender of the Month

The St. John’s Junior Hockey League would like to congratulate the Sportscraft Source for Sports Forward, Defenceman, and Goaltender of the Month for November.

 

 

The Sportscraft Source for Sports Foward of the Month is Luke Akerman of the MoorFrost CBN Jr. Stars. Akerman had a very strong November leading his team to a 5 – 0 record. He scored 9 goals and added 7 assists in 5 games for a 3.2 points per game average. With a strong November, Akerman has now moved to the top of the scoring race for the St. John’s Junior Hockey League with 16 goals and 18 assist for 34 points in 15 games. He holds a 6 point lead over Stars teammate Kyle Petten.

 

The Sportscraft Source for Sports Defenceman of the Month is J.S. Cook of The Bigs Avalon Junior Capitals. Cook played a steady role on the Capitals defense while contributing significantly on the score board. He potted 5 goals and assisted on another 6 for a total of 11 points in 7 games. Cook put up a strong showing this past Sunday when the Capitals defeated the Mount Pearl Junior Blades 5 – 2.  Cook scored once while assisting on another 3 goals. He was honored as the Capitals’ Newfoundland Growlers Player of the Game.

 

The Sportscraft Source for Sports Goaltender of the Month is Andrew d’Entremont of the Mount Pearl Junior Blades. During the month of November, d’Entremont held a 4 – 0 record which included a shutout victory over then-1st place CBR Renegades. His GAA was a sparkling 1.50 along with a save percentage of .933%.
