Junior League mourns the passing of it’s founder, Gerry Taylor

It is with great sadness that St.Johns Junior Hockey League have to announce the passing of the leagues founder, Mr Hockey, Gerry Taylor. The league members and players send their deepest sympathies to Gerrys family at this time. We know that Gerry is at peace now in the arms of his loved ones gone before him.

Gerald (Gerry) Augustus Taylor 1936-2021

Passed peacefully away at Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre on April 17, 2021, age 85 years of Mount Pearl. Predeceased by his loving wife Rosemary (2020), son Foster (1984), parents Clarence and Florence Taylor, brothers Clarence Junior, Dave (Priscilla), Sam (Mary) and Carlson. Left with fond and loving memories, his sons Gerry (Marie), Derek (Michelle), Don (Terri), his daughter Penny Ennis (Paul). Also grandchildren Melanie (Andrew), Chelsea (Greg), Mark (Erin), Scott (Emma), Rebecca, Robert and Mackenzie, and great-grandchildren Jordyn and Jack. Also his sisters Bernice Fitzpatrick (Mike), Gloria Bickford (Charle), Beulah O’Reilly (Paton), Roma Clarke (Lorne), Judy Bartlett (Albert), and Debbie Slade (Lee), brother Fraser, and a large circle of other relatives and friends, particularly from his many years volunteering with the St. John’s Junior Hockey League. A private funeral service will be held at a later date with interment to follow. Donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to Vera Perlin Society.
